Stella magazine Issue 15

If you think you are seeing double, don’t be confused. It’s real!! Stella has doubled in size! This issue is the first of our new look and we really hope that you approve. With twice as much content we have to admit that we have twice as much fun in the Stella studio and we hope this means twice as much fun for you too, dear readers!

To set the scene a little, while we prepare and wait for the release of this new look, we will have been busy celebrating our third birthday with RUNWAY2015. Just quietly, we are gob smacked at the talent and quality of designers emerging out of Papua New Guinea this year.  There must be something in the water!

Back to the point, in the following 100-odd pages you will meet Grace Dlabik, the creative director of GiDi Creative and entrepreneur pushing for positive, global social change. We dare you not to be impressed by the obstacles she has overcome to follow her dreams – not to mention her drive, her talent, and her attitude. Tell us later if you want to be like her too (like we do).

Also in this new issue, meet Avia Koisen, principal of her own law firm going above and beyond to pave the way for women entrepreneurs through the PNG Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Read all about a clever concept to empower women surfers and see if you can learn a thing or two about your own style from our new contributors, Natasha of The Fashion Market and Vanisha of A Life Unstyled.

We have familiar and new voices emerging out of the Pacific continuing to celebrate our role models and interests, and also address the serious issues we face in the 21st century that genuinely impact our collective identities as Pacific Islanders.

As always, we love to hear from you and hope you enjoy this new look Stella.
