Stella magazine issue 17

With this issue we’re launching in 400 new newsagents throughout Australia and going into outlets in New Zealand and Asia for the very first time. We’re excited (and a little overwhelmed) by this opportunity to be found on shelves more widely that ever before.

We’re celebrating women in sport in a big way in Papua New Guinea as the hosts of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and inside this issue you’ll hear first-hand from our home team just how they feel about the chance to play against the world’s best.

Also in this issue, the contemporary Pacific traveller takes us through Fiji and The Australian Outback while our regular columns offer plenty of travel tips from seasoned island- and continent-hoppers and we visit some entrepreneurs, at Tanna Farm in Vanuatu, discovering new economic futures after Cylcone Pam.

We’re featuring senior leaders and role-models including Papua New Guinea’s Royal Constabulary’s highest-ranking female officer, Joanne Clarkson and Oil Search Human Resources Manager Linda Griffin, and we see how partnerships have enabled Femili PNG to help survivors of family and sexual violence reach their potential.

Whether you find us at your local news agent in Auckland or Abu Dhabi, we trust that when we do reach you, you find something positive within our pages to inspire and challenge you, and perhaps also something that will solidify the importance of standing up for our human rights as women and as first nation’s peoples.
